Dvd cover- the film cars(2006).
  • The colours used on the front dvd cover are very bright and attarctive. This is important as the main target audience for the film is children. Therefore the use of bright colours will appeal to them in many ways as they stand out.
  • The title of the movie is aslo placed in a large font that stands out. This is important and significant as the media text is a dvd cover.
  • The colous of the title is in red which has connotations of passion and action.
  • By the fact that the colour of the title is red can suggest that idea that the main primary audience for the text are boys that are aged between 6-10 years of age.
  • The main image is of a car that is placed in the middle of the page. This is sifnificant as it can be used as a iconographic symbol suggesting that the genre of the film is about cars.
  • The animated expression of the car is a happy one. This suggests the idea that young boys will find it easier to engage into the text.
  • Certain images of different coloured cars are placed next to each other in the top left hand corner. This can connote the film is going to be about action.
  • The brand name is "Disney" which is regognised at the top of the title. Therefore we as the audience know that the dvd is targeted towards children in the market. Also the fact that disney produce animated films.
  • The typical conventions of a front dvd cover are also noticable- the use of a PG symbol suggests that the movie is safe for children to watch.
  • There is also a symbol of the letters dvd.
  • The use of a title, colourful background, and large images are typical of a dvd cover.
